Desertmartin Pony Drive: The organisers would sincerely thank all those who sponsored, donated, bought tickets or helped in any way to make this annual fundraising event so successful. As money is still coming in it is not possible to give a total amount but this will be published later. St Patricks Ceili Club, Desertmartin: Ceili classes re-commence in St Mary’s Hall on Wed 23rd August for all age groups. Newcomers most welcome. Dancing 8.30 pm (Sharp) to 10 pm

Alzheimer’s Society Carer Support Group in Maghera.  The next meeting will be held on Tuesday the 22nd of August in The Lurach Centre Maghera from 7.00 – 8.30pm.  The meeting gives carers of people with dementia an opportunity to meet with others in similar situations and share their experiences and concerns in an understanding and confidential setting. If you would benefit from practical information and emotional support you are encouraged to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.  If you would like to find out more about the group or services provided by the Alzheimer’s Society please contact Mona McGlade, Dementia Support Worker on 028 8676 5888.

St Mary Hall Desertmartin:
Social dancing classes continue in the Parish Hall, Desertmartin on Tuesday at 8 pm. Tutor led classes and admission is £4. Everyone welcome.
Week 5: Health and Suicide Awareness Programme continues on Monday 21st August at 7:30pm with Dance & Drama.
Week 6: Mental Health Talk will be rescheduled at a later date.
Drama Classes will continue on Friday 18th & 25th August for children aged 6-14 yrs from 11am-1pm.  Due to interest, from September, we will continue the Dance Programme on Friday afternoons: 3pm-4pm in the Parish Hall.  To register your child, please ring or text Olive: 07887614094 or Julie: 07734865433.

Sperrins & Killeter Walking Festival – Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th September
Walking enthusiasts of all levels are being invited to venture into the stunning surroundings of the Sperrins this September at the Sperrins and Killeter Walking Festival.
There are seven guided walks taking place over the weekend with a little something for everyone from 12km challenging walks discovering the International Reach of the Killeter Camino to the 3km Family Friendly Bat & Moth Twilight Walk for the younger wildlife fans. 
Saturday: Dawn Chorus Walk – Strabane (4km) at  6am. Sawel Challenge (12km) at 9am. Balix & Beyond (8 km) at 10am. Bat & Moth Twilight Walk (3km – family friendly) at 6pm
Sunday: The International Reach of A Killeter Camino (12km) at  9am.  Water of Life (8km) at 10am. Pilgrim Trail (6km) at 1pm.
