Meeting of newly married and engaged couples
Pope Francis will meet newly married and engaged couples in the Pro Cathedral Dublin during his visit to Ireland on Saturday 25th August 2018. If you would like to be in the draw for available places please contact by email Fr Pat O’Hagan Diocesan Delegate to the WMOF immediately and give your names, parish, place and date of wedding and the name of the priest who married or will marry you. Family Focus Week at Knock Shrine Mon 16th – 21st July From Monday July 16th to Saturday July 21st there will be a special week focusing on the family held at Knock Shrine. It will include four events each day. The morning and evening workshops at 12 noon and 8.30pm will explore the message of Pope Francis to families, as we prepare to celebrate his visit to us in August. Prayer times will include Mass at 3pm and Holy Hour at 7pm. The blessing of young children will take place on Saturday morning July 21th at 12 noon. Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre Invites applications for the post of Diocesan Youth Coordinator
This post represents the continuing development and commitment in Youth Ministry by the Diocese of Derry and will be a challenging undertaking for the successful candidate. The main focus of the post will be working with young people, schools and parishes to help them live their faith vibrantly in their school, parish and community. Engaging young people in faith and the activity of the Church will be the post holder’s priority.
To be successful you will need to have:
– A degree in a relevant discipline – Education, Theology, Religious Education or Pastoral Studies.
– Evidence of working with young people in a leadership capacity
– Active involvement in the spiritual and sacramental life of the Catholic Church at parish and/or diocesan level.

Congratulations to Ryan McEldowney and Conor Shields who were part of the Derry team that defeated Cavan last weekend to win the Ulster U15 Championship. It was a special moment for the club when Conor Shiels lifted the Brian McLernon Cup as the Derry captain.
