Candles of Atonement:  Parishioners are invited to light a candle at any of the candelabras in any of the Churches of the parish over the next week and to pray the Prayer for Atonement to remember the victims and survivors of abuse. The candles are a reminder to pray for those who carry lifelong suffering following abuse – they symbolise repentance, light in the darkness and hope. There is no charge for lighting a candle of atonement.

Thornhill Ministries –  Lenten Promise Cards Now Available!  The Lenten Promise Card is a very simple, yet practical way of “doing something” for Lent.  Each day, by scratching off the date, you are invited to pray, fast or give.

Cards cost £1 and are available from Thornhill Ministries, 121 Culmore Road, Derry.

STAY AWAKE / SLEEP OUT for 15-18 year olds:  The Derry Diocese will host a Stay Awake/Sleep Out for young people aged 15-18years in St Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry, from Friday 8 March, 8pm until Saturday 9 March, 8am. The event aims to raise awareness of homelessness across Ireland.  All money raised will go to Saint Vincent de Paul, De Paul Ireland, Damien House and the Simon Community.  Registration is mandatory.  Parental consent forms can be obtained from the Parochial House / Parish Office or found on the diocesan website (www.derrydiocese.org).  All forms must be returned to the Catechetical Centre, 2 Francis Street, Derry, by Monday 4 March.  To register or to find out more information, contact Pádraig Delargy at the Centre on +442871264087 or email  padraig.delargy@derrydiocese.org

Knock Shrine Society Seeks Volunteers – Knock Shrine Society is seeking new members to join Our Lady’s Volunteers, to assist pilgrims who visit the Shrine. This opportunity is open to all men and women over 18 who wish to share their time and be of service to the Sick and Infirm, and to assist in the Eucharistic and Liturgical services.
