Desertmartin Parish GIFT: The GIFT Programme for Year 8s concluded before Christmas – the Children all really enjoyed themselves and got a lot out of the programme. This was the first of its kind in the Parish and really helps the young members of our Parish to come together to celebrate and enjoy their Faith in a fun and friendly atmosphere. A sincere word of thanks to all the children who attended and to their parents for their efforts in transporting them. Thanks also to all the Volunteers who assisted in any way to make this such a success. The programme will resume later in the year for the new Years 8s and a short while after for the Year 9s.

Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes, led by Bishop Donal McKeown, Thursday 2nd to Tuesday 7th July 2020, cost £679 (deposit £100 – non refundable ) including full board and transfers in Lourdes.
The Pilgrimage Office in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre at 164 Bishop Street, Derry, BT48 6UJ, will be open for enquiries and bookings each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 11 am to 1 pm, from Tuesday 14th January. Tel. 028 7126 0293. Email: derrypilgrim@outlook.com.

Tirgan Community Group: We are having an inter-generational evening with children, parents and grandparents on Wednesday 22nd January at 7.30 pm. This will be an evening of story-telling, etc, encouraging the young and elderly to talk and discuss life and changes through the generations. Come along and enjoy a cup of tea and craic.

St. Mary’s Grammar School invites P6 and P7 pupils and their parents/guardians to an Open Evening on Tuesday 21st or Wednesday 22nd January. Principal’s Address at 7 pm.

Training Opportunity for Young People: The Diocese in conjunction with Youthlink NI are offering an exciting training opportunity for young people aged 16-18 interested in Youth Work and Leadership Training. The course will be an OCN Level 1 Award in Practical Youth Work/Ministry Skills. It will run over on 3 days Saturday 18th January, Sunday 2nd February and Sunday 1st March in Maghera Pastoral Centre. Marriage Enrichment Weekend, hosted by Catholic Marriage Encounter Ireland, offers married couples of all ages in a good relationship, private time to rekindle the joy of their love. National Draw: The club will be taking part in the National Club Draw shortly with ticket sellers calling at homes throughout the parish over the coming weeks. This very credible fundraiser is sponsored by the GAA from Croke Park and has been hugely successful to our club in previous years. Tickets are £10 each with many very worthwhile prizes to be won. We ask you to please give this fundraising event you full support.
