PADRE PIO MASS

The monthly Mass in honour of St. Pio will be celebrated on Monday 6th June at 7.30 pm in the Holy Rosary.  Novena prayers and Rosary 7.10 pm.  A relic of Padre Pio will be present at this 7.30 pm Mass.  A door collection will be held; all donations will be forwarded to Padre Pio Centre, San Giovanni.  Please Note: There will be NO 11 am Mass in Holy Rosary on Monday 6th June.

 

UNIVERSAL SYNOD

Pentecost Sunday has been designated as a Day of Prayer in Thanksgiving for the Diocesan Phase of the Universal Synod.

A National Pre-Synodal Assembly will take place in Athlone on Saturday 18th June, when Diocesan delegates and other participating groups will gather to prepare the national synthesis.  They would appreciate prayers for a day of courageous listening, meaningful

sharing and a renewed commitment to being a missionary Church.  See www.synod.ie for more details.

KNOCKNAGIN HALL COMMITTEE

Upcoming activities in June:

Knit and Natter Class on Tuesdays from 7 pm – 8.30 pm.  Come along and knit or crochet baby hats for the Neonatal Unit in Antrim Area Hospital.  Everyone welcome.  Wool can be provided.  Contact Kathleen:  077 6427 7809, Anne:  028 7964 2711, Olive:  078 8761 4094.

A Big Thank You to all who attended, made donations or donated prizes for the Charity Dance for Air Ambulance NI on Friday 27th May.  To date a sum of £4,180.00 has been raised with more donations to come.

Our Monthly Dances have resumed on the second Friday of the month.  The next dance will be on Friday 10th June from 9 pm to midnight.  Music by Kenny Paul.

SPRED Group:  Next Meeting on Monday 6th June at 7.30 pm.

Chair Exercises with Thomasina continue on Tuesday mornings at 10 am.

Line Dancing Classes continue on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 pm.

Band Practice continues on Thursday nights at 8 pm – 9 pm.  New members always welcome.

 

TIRGAN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

SLIEVE GALLION ACTIVE RETIREMENT

THERESA’S FUNDRAISER

Fundraiser will take place on Friday 24th June at 8 pm in The Shepherd’s Rest.  Music by D.J. Bosco.  Buffet will be served.  Raffle and Disco.  All proceeds will be in aid of Antrim Hospital ICU and the Emergency Department.  Tickets now on sale.  Please contact Cherisse on 075 4736 1948.

CONCERT FOR UKRAINE 

featuring ‘The Magnificent Seven Crew’ in partnership with the Derry Branch of Concern Worldwide on Monday 6th June in the Millennium Forum with over 30 top singers and entertainers from Derry City and beyond, who are giving of their time freely to help those suffering as a result of the terrible devastation being inflicted on the people of Ukraine.  Some tickets (£16.50) are still available from the Millennium Forum Box Office.  All proceeds from the show will go to the Ukrainian humanitarian appeal.

SCRIPTURE SUMMER SCHOOL AT KNOCK SHRINE

From Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th June.  Theme:  ‘Walking the Synodal Pathway Together’, facilitated by Mr. Sean Goan and Fr. Kieran O’Mahony OSA.  We are delighted to bring you this year’s Scripture Summer School in association with Tarsus Scripture School.  In order to facilitate people from all over the country and further afield, we are delighted to offer participants the option of taking part online or in-person.  Beginning Thursday 16th June at 9.30 am and finishing on Saturday 18th June at 1 pm.  Location (if attending in-person):  St. John’s Welcome Centre, Knock Shrine.  Booking fee:  €40.  Bookings must be completed online at www.knockshrine.ie/scripture_summer_school   *Please note you will need to select the option to either attend online or in-person at the time of booking.

DERRY DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOUGH DERG ~ FRIDAY 24TH – SUNDAY 26TH JUNE

MATT TALBOT ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE

IRISH CHURCH MUSIC SUMMER SCHOOL

The Irish Church Music Association is resuming its Summer School in St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Co. Kildare on Thursday 14th July and Friday 15th July.  They resume their ‘in person’ Summer School with two days of workshops this year.  Dr. John O’Keeffe and Ronan McDonagh will be guest presenters on Thursday 14th July.

 

MASTERS IN CATHOLIC SCHOOL LEADERSHIP INFORMATION SESSION

The Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre, working in Partnership with St. Mary’s University, Twickenham, offers the Masters in Catholic School Leadership.  This is a post-graduate degree dedicated to the professional development and spiritual formation of Catholic school leaders.  An Information Session on the Masters Programme will take place via ZOOM on Monday 13th June at 3.30pm.  If you would like to attend this session, please email tferry@derrydiocese.org.

 

THE DERRY DIOCESAN CATECHETICAL CENTRE
