Knocknagin P.S. Opening of the School Year Mass will be celebrated on Friday 21st September at 10 am in St. Mary’s, Coolcalm. Everyone welcome.

St. Columb’s P.S. Cullion Opening of the School Year Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 25th September at 10 am in St. Patrick’s, Keenaught. Everyone welcome.

A Table Quiz is being held on Friday 21st September at 8 pm in the Terrace Hotel, Magherafelt. All proceeds in aid of ‘Protect Slieve Gallion’. £20 per table. All welcome.

Sincere Thanks to everyone who attended the Coffee Morning that James, Bernie and the girls organised on 30th June in aid of Charis Cancer Care and the Cancer Fund for Children. We were absolutely delighted with the amount of £3,400 raised and are grateful for your support.

Padre Pio Anniversary Mass: To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the death of St. Pio of Pietrelcina and the centenary of his having received on his body the stigmata, Bishop McKeown, will be the chief celebrant at a special Mass in honour of St. Pio on Sunday 23rd September in the Holy Rosary at 3 pm. This Mass will be followed by a blessing with a relic of St. Pio of Pietrelcina. All welcome.

Tirgan Community Group: Supper Club on Saturday 29th September. To book a place, contact Paul on 079 8995 1048 or any committee member. Music on the night by Big Ned. Tickets £20. Traditional nights returning in October. All musicians and singers welcome. Gymnastics each Thursday evening – block booking £20 for 5 classes. Contact Anna on 078 5070 7520 for information. Youth Club starts on Wednesday 19th September. We are looking for volunteers for the Club. Each volunteer will be trained and receive a certificate on Child Protection. Crockandun Wind Farm: Community Open Day will take place on Wednesday 26th September from 5 pm to 7 pm. To facilitate visitors, a bus will depart from
St. Columba’s Primary School, Sixtowns Road, Straw at 5 pm and 5.30 pm.

Sarsfield Accordion Band Open Night on Thursday 20th September from 7.30 pm.

33rd Derry Ballinascreen Scouts restart this week, from Monday 17th September, on the following nights and times: Cubs (P5 to P7) – Monday from 7.30 pm to 9 pm; Beavers (P3 to P4) – Provisionally Wednesday from 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm; Scouts and Ventures (Year 8 onwards) – Provisionally Thursday from 7.30 pm to 9 pm; Rovers (18 years to 25 years) – Sunday from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. New Leaders needed asap in both Beavers and Scouts sections before either can be run at full capacity. Located at St. Colm’s Hall, Cahore Road, Draperstown. Pope John Paul II Award Pilgrimage To Knock Shrine will take place on Tuesday 25th September for young people aged 16-18 who may be interested in participating in the Award or are currently doing it. It starts at 11 am, concluding with 3 pm Mass celebrated by Bishop Donal McKeown. Guest speakers: Sr. Ethel Normoyle of the Little Company of Mary (founder of the Missionvale Care Centre, South Africa) and Alan Kerins, Irish sportsman, humanitarian, social entrepreneur and philanthropist. Kilcronaghan Centre Annual Vintage Rally and Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday 22nd September from 11 am to 4 pm.
