COOLCALM AND KEENAUGHT OPEN FOR PRIVATE PRAYER

St. Mary’s, Coolcalm, will be open for private prayer and to light candles this week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and FRIDAY from 11 am to 2 pm.

St. Patrick’s, Keenaught, will be open for private prayer and to light candles this week on Thursday and FRIDAY from 11 am to 2 pm.

Please, you must wear a face covering while entering and leaving the church.  Also, please use hand sanitiser at the door.  When you call into the church please pick up a coloured card at the door on the way to your seat.  When you have finished praying please leave the card behind on your seat.  That seat will be cleaned later in the day.  Do not sit on a seat where a card has been left behind.  Thank you.

NUMBERS ATTENDING SUNDAY MASSES IN KEENAUGHT AND COOLCALM

In Ballinascreen and Desertmartin it has been decided that anyone may attend Sunday Mass in the following churches, regardless of where they live in the parish:  St. Columba’s, Straw; St. Eugene’s, Moneyneena; St. Patrick’s, Keenaught and Holy Rosary, Draperstown.  There are plenty of spaces available at the moment and when the number of spaces have been allocated before Mass begins, the doors will close.

Because of their relative size and the larger numbers attending St. Patrick’s, Sixtowns and St. Mary’s, Coolcalm, it is not possible to open these churches for Sunday Mass except on a townland area basis.  So, the 2-week townland area rota will continue in St. Mary’s, Coolcalm for Sunday Masses.

DAWN TO DUSK CHARITY CYCLE ON SUNDAY 27TH JUNE

Message from Danny McStravock:  As many of you know over the last number of years I have been organising a charity cycle every year to raise money for local charities.  This year I am again planning a sponsored cycle on Sunday 27th June when along with my son-in-law Sammy Lupari we will be attempting to cycle from Dawn at 4.30 am until Dusk at 9 pm to raise money for Kinship care N.I.  Once again due to COVID the cycle will be taking place locally.  We will be using a circuit of Magherafelt, Moneymore, Desertmartin, Tobermore, Magherafelt and attempting to complete as many laps as we can.  This year’s charity Kinship Care N.I. provides support to families encountering difficulties and trying to make sure families can stay together no matter what the circumstances are.  They do this through a range of support services.  One of their many initiatives is ‘Kindness of Strangers’ with shops in many towns throughout Northern Ireland.  Thanks to everyone who has donated so far.  If you would like to donate, please follow this link:  https://localgiving.org/dawntoduskcharitycycle  Unfortunately, I won’t be able to go around houses due to current restrictions, so if anyone can’t make a donation online and would like to donate, please contact me or any of the family and we will arrange something.  Thank you.
