EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will commence at 12 noon on Monday 3rd October in the Holy Rosary Church, Draperstown and will continue until 7.25 pm.

 

PADRE PIO MASS

Monthly Mass in honour of St. Pio of Pietrelcina will be celebrated on Monday 3rd October at 7.30 pm in Holy Rosary Church, Draperstown.  Novena prayers and Rosary will commence at 7.10 pm.

 

KNOCKNAGIN HALL COMMITTEE

Christmas Craft Fair:  Back this year on Sunday 13th November, starting at 10.30 am until 4 pm.   1 table £20, 2 tables £30.  £10 deposit to pay when booking.  For further details, contact Monica on 075 9406 1178 or Olive on 078 8761 4094.

SPRED Group:  Next Meeting on Monday 3rd October at 7 pm.

Chair Exercise with Thomasina on Tuesday mornings at 10 am.  Admission £4.  Everyone welcome.

Knit and Natter Class meet on Tuesday 4th October at 7.30 pm.  You can bring along your own work, have a natter and we will learn from each other.

Line Dancing with Thomasina on Wednesday 28th September (if numbers are sufficient).

The AOH Annual Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Saturday 8th October, depending on numbers.  Bus fare plus full breakfast and evening meal £45.  Anyone interested, contact Seamus on 078 8081 6392 asap.

Band practice continues on Thursday nights, 7.30 pm to 9 pm.  New members are always welcome.

 

ST. MARY’S BOWLING CLUB

St. Mary’s Bowling Club on Tuesday nights.  After two seasons interrupted due to COVID, we are hoping to welcome back all previous members plus anyone who would like to try out the game.  Play commences at 8 pm and usually runs to 9.30-10 pm.

 

KILCRONAGHAN COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

Watercolours with George Gourley begins on Monday 3rd October, 10 am – 12 noon for 4 weeks.  Creative Writing with Maura Johnston begins on Tuesday 4th October, 10.30 am – 12 noon for 9 weeks.

IRISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

DERRY YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP

Derry Youth is taking expressions of interest for the Derry Youth Scholarship Programme.  This is a year-long programme for young people in 6th Form or doing their Leaving Cert.  The programme provides opportunities for young people to meet others from across the diocese, to come together to explore their faith, to meet new friends, gain training and learn new skills, and work with a charitable organisation.  If you are interested in this programme or would like more information, please message us @Derryyouth on social media or email Niamh at niamh.mclaughlin@derrydiocese.org.

DAY FOR LIFE 2022 – CARING FOR THE OLDER PERSON

Day for Life is celebrated annually by the Catholic Church in Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales.  It is a day dedicated to raising awareness of the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition.  This year’s Day for Life will be celebrated in Ireland on Sunday 2nd October on the theme ‘Caring for the Older Person’.  We invite people to think again about the value and worth of older persons in families and in society, and to make practical choices to build bridges between the generations and to promote caring for the older persons in our communities.  Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, pray for us.  To read the pastoral message for Day for Life in full, visit www.councilforlife.ie.

ANAM CARA DONEGAL

Anam Cara Donegal, the organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding its monthly Parent Evening for bereaved parents on Thursday 13th October at 7.15 pm in the Raddison Blu, Letterkenny.  This event is free and open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether their death was recent or not.  We also offer an online service.  Please contact us on 085 288 8888/info@anamcara.ie for further information.

 

YOUTH 2000

The next Youth 2000 Ulster Retreat will be taking place in the beautiful and tranquil surroundings of Lough Derg, Co. PATHWAYS – ADULT FAITH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

WORLD YOUTH DAY PILGRIMAGE – LISBON 2023
The Diocese of Derry is inviting any young person who is over 18 or will be 18 by July 2023 to join us on Pilgrimage to Lisbon for World Youth Day.  World Youth Day (WYD) is the gathering of young people from all over the world with the Pope.  It is also a pilgrimage, a celebration of youth, an expression of the universal Church and an intense moment of evangelization for the youth world.  This pilgrimage will take place in August 2023.  For now, we are taking expression of interest until we have more information on dates, times and prices.  We have limited space so signing up is essential.  You can register your interest on the derrydiocese.org website or on the @derryyouth Facebook page.  If you have any questions regarding this pilgrimage, please email Lizzie Rea, Youth Coordinator at: lizzie.rea@derrydiocese.org
