Making Awareness of Potential Mining in the Slieve Gallion Area: A Public Meeting will take place in St Mary’s Hall, Desertmartin on Monday 13th August at
8 pm. Please come along and voice your opinion. Everybody welcome.

Slieve Gallion ARA: Monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday 14th August at 8 pm in St Mary’s Hall, Desertmartin. WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES ~ FAMILY FUN EVENING
To celebrate the opening of the WMOF in Dublin on Wednesday 22nd August, Ballinascreen Parish is hosting a Free Family Fun Evening in the grounds of Dean McGlinchey Park on the evening of Tuesday 21st August. Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy a pleasant community event which will feature music by Bleedin’ Cowboys and a variety of side shows including a Craft Tent, Magic Show, Puppet Show, Storytelling, Play Trailer, Prayer Tent and lots more fun activities for all. Tea and juice will be served. Hot food available to purchase. The event will finish with a spectacular Fireworks Display! Please spread the word! Everyone welcome.

Relics of St. Therese and her parents, St Louis and Ze Lie Martin: Ahead of the upcoming World Meeting of Families in Ireland, these relics will be coming to St. Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry, on Tuesday 14th August, where Bishop McKeown will lead a short Service of Welcome at 11 am. Fr Stephen Quinn OCD, from the Carmelite Friary in Termonbacca, Derry, will give a Talk at 12.30 pm. At 2 pm, the Rosary will be recited for the success of WMOF. At 4 pm, there will be a Recitation from St. Therese’s autobiography: Story of a Soul. At 6 pm, the relics will leave the Cathedral and make their way to the Carmelite Friary in Termonbacca. Everyone invited to come along.

The Carefully Yours Project provides support to over 55s in Magherafelt and the surrounding areas. Activities are open to all over 55s including those suffering from or at risk of dementia, ill health, disability, or experiencing isolation or loneliness. Dancing in the parish hall on the second Friday of every month

Four week Crochet Class with tutor Mary Kelly commences on Tuesday 14th August, 11 am – 1 pm and will continue on the 17th, 21st and 24th August. Classes are open to all who are interested from 12 yrs upwards. Funded by Public Health Agency. Just bring a ball of wool and crochet hook size 4 or 4.5.

Draperstown Celtic: Hughes Insurance Summer Camp. There are a few places left
for the summer camp. Camp runs from 20th to 24th August, 10 am to 1 pm each day.
Football Development Centre: FDC resumes on Sunday 26th August at The Backrow 3G. Training from 10 am to 11 am and open to children born between 2009 and 2014.

Sarsfield Accordion Band: No band practice until further notice. Draw Winners: July ~ Harry Loane and August ~ Emma Walls. We would express our deepest sympathy to the extended Higgins Family on the death of Margaret, and the O’Hagan Family on the death of Elizabeth, wife of former member Anthony.

The Biggest Loser: The club will be promoting a fundraising programme starting on Monday 10th September called the Biggest Loser. This event is a ten week exercise activity for those who enjoy keeping fit with the ambition of losing weight. There will be weekly weigh-ins and health checks along the way.
