DANNY McSTRAVOCK CHARITY CYCLE THIS WEEKEND

Hi everyone.  I am once again undertaking a cycling challenge this weekend.  In December 2021 Daniel Lupari, my grandson aged 7 was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and he is currently on 5 injections per day.  This has naturally meant that there has to have been a lot of adjustments for the family and a lot of learning on managing his eating and activities.  The treatment has come a long way for diabetics over the years but it’s still not perfect.  There can be a lot of unpredictable spikes or dips with no explanation behind them.  Daniel has been a wee warrior and never complains, as a family we could not be prouder at how he has adapted.  Diabetes UK Northern Ireland help by providing information, providing someone to talk to, provide a helpline, local support groups, type 1 events, online learning zone and even insurance.  They also invest in research investing £6.4 million in 2021 to kick start 31 new studies.

With this in mind we wanted to do something to help to raise awareness of Diabetes so on 24th July Sammy (Daniel’s father) and myself will be attempting to cycle twice around Lough Neagh clockwise then anti-clockwise, approx. 160 miles.  If you would like to donate you can do through our just giving page link below or search for Danny McStravock on www.justgiving.com

Danny Mcstravock is fundraising for Diabetes UK (justgiving.com)

or making a payment to myself or Sammy or any of our families.  We hope to be joined on the day by other local cyclists and anyone wishing to join will be more than welcome.  We understand that after the last few years things have been difficult for everyone and any support you can provide would be gratefully appreciated.
