The Club offers its sincere sympathy to the McAllister family of Iniscarn Road on the death of Mickey.  For many years Mickey was a dedicated member who fulfilled various roles within the Club.  During a prolonged playing career he played on the senior championship winning side of 1953 and the 1968 team that won the all county junior championship.  After his playing days Mickey refereed games throughout the county for many years.  As a committee member, he, along with others, was central in the building of the Gaelic Centre which opened in 1984.  Following in their father’s footsteps, Mickey’s sons also played for Desertmartin.  In his later years, Mickey was the Club’s groundsman, a role which he fulfilled with utmost diligence and devotion. May he rest in peace.
