Daily Masses

Keenaught: Monday at 10 am, Friday at 7.30 pm (Vigil)

Sunday Collection: Last week’s Collection amounted to £1349.11 and £671.87 was collected for the World Meeting of Families.  Thank you.

Saturday is the feast of the Immculate Conception:  Masses will be Friday Vigil in Keenaught at 7.30 pm and Saturday morning in Coolcalm at 10 am.

At the Vigil Masses in St Patrick’s Church Keenaught  and Holy Rosary Church, Ballinascreen the students from the parish who have signed up for the Pope John Paul 11 Awards this year will be commissioned. We wish them every success throughout the coming year and look forward to their active participation in the life of the church in the County Derry Deanery of the Diocese of Derry.

The Twelve Days of Christmas Draw:  As outlined last weekend, the Parish Christmas Draw Cards are on sale after weekend masses, from Fr McGirr’s House, the Parish Office at Keenaught and in Ballinascreen Parish Office (located beside the chemist in the centre of Draperstown). The draw tickets have been beautifully designed in the shape of a Christmas Card and make a wonderful gift. The cost is £20. The First ten draws are for three prizes of £100. On the Eleventh Day of Christmas the draw will be for 2 prizes of £500 and on the Twelfth and Last Day of Christmas there is one final prize of £1000. Please make a real effort to let your family and friends know about this special draw.

Over the past couple of years, the usual parish draws in the spring have not taken place and the twice-yearly cake fairs have not been held either. This has created a shortfall in parish funds and it is hoped that this Christmas Draw will make up for it. Your generosity from week to week in the Sunday Collection is very much appreciated. But if we are to maintain the fabric of the parish, and create opportunities for Adult Religious Education in the future, fund-raising is essential. The work that was undertaken in St Mary’s Coolcalm in 2014 is almost paid but plans for St Patrick’s Church Keenaught are waiting our attention. Of immediate concern is the state of the carpark at Keenaught. Depending on the success of the draw, it is hoped that this problem can be addressed immediately after Christmas. So, we make this appeal to everyone to do their best to promote the draw within their family and circle of friends. Thank you.
